CCU Announces Candidates For Election To Board of Directors

Election will be held at 84th Annual Meeting on March 12, 2014

Grayslake, IL January 14, 2014:  Consumers Credit Union’s ($604 Million; Waukegan, IL) recently introduced the list of candidates from for the Member-owned credit union’s Board of Directors.  Seven (7) candidates are vying for four (4) positions on the credit union’s Board, with the election scheduled for Wednesday, March 12th, at Keylime Cove Resort Gurnee, IL, in conjunction with the credit union’s 84th Annual Meeting.

Nominees for election to the Board of Directors include the following (listed alphabetically by last name, along with city of residence; incumbents are identified with an “I” following their names):  Nancy Anderson, Ingleside, IL; Scott Drabicki, Vernon Hills, IL; Denise Charts (I), Libertyville, IL; John Janezic (I), Green Oaks, IL; Sam Johnson-Maurello, Beach Park, IL; Samreen Khan, Gurnee, IL; and Todd Woodson Gurnee, IL.

“There are a variety of benefits enjoyed by those who choose to become Members of a credit union,” noted Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President.  “One of the more important rights, is having a voice in the governance of the credit union.  That includes both the right to run for the Board of Directors and to vote in the annual election for the Board.  We’re extremely fortunate to have seven highly-qualified candidates wishing to serve on our Board and look forward to the Board election at our Annual Meeting this March.”

All Members in good standing at the credit union are eligible to vote in the election.  Ballots will be counted and certified by CCU’s CPA firm, Wipfli, Ullrich, Bertelson LLP.  After certification, those elected will be notified to attend the Board’s Organizational Meeting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014.  The agenda for the March meeting consists of organizing the Board, including the election of Officers for the coming year and determining who will serve on the Board’s various standing committees.

Approximately 300 Members and guests are expected to attend the 84th Annual Meeting at Keylime Cove Resort, 1700 Nations Drive in Gurnee, IL.  Tickets are available for $15.00 each on a first-come, first-serve basis at all credit union offices; no tickets will be sold at the door.  Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting to inform Members of CCU’s 2013 financial status and the election of Board Members. Annual Reports recapping the credit union’s 2013 performance will also be distributed at the meeting.
