If you do not have air conditioning available for the coming days, Lake County has several cooling centers available to keep you safe during the extreme heat.
The village of Gurnee shared a list of siteson its websitethat have previously served as cooling centers within the county. Village officials said they cannot verify that all of the information is up to date on the cooling centers. Before going to any of the listed centers, residents are urged to call in advance to make sure the desired center is open.
