A second town hall meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night at Grayslake Middle School.

The District 46 Board of Education will host its second town hall meeting at Grayslake Middle School on Wednesday, following the general board meeting at 6 p.m.

The public will have an opportunity to hear and discuss the contract proposals of the teachers' union and board. There will also be discussion of the effects each proposal would have on the district's deficit budget and along with an update on district finances.

Some progress was made at the last bargaining session between the school board and teachers' union on Nov. 28, but a contract agreement has yet to be reached.

Superintendent contract

Superintendent Ellen Correll's contract extension will be up for a board vote at Wednesday's general meeting.

On Nov. 7, a vote to extend Correll's $170,844 annual contract through June 2014 failed for a second time. The vote ended in a 3-3 tie, just as it did on Oct. 17.
