Driver Killed Following Crash Into Guardrail

 WADSWORTH, IL - A 66-year-old Beach Park woman was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Wadsworth.

Teresita B. Mangaran, of the 1100 block of Beach Road in Beach Par, died in the crash that happened on west Wadsworth Road and north Magnetics Boulevard in Wadsworth at about 9:15 a.m., according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Mangaran was headed west on Wadsworth Road when it struck a guardrail on the north side of the road. The vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic before striking the guardrails on the south side of the road.

When deputies arrived, they found Mangaran unresponsive inside the locked Toyota. Mangaran was transported to Vista East Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office Tuesday morning.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigation Unit.
