In "So Sexy, So Soon," authors Diane Levin Β Ph.D., andΒ Jean Kilbourne, Ed.D., internationally recognized experts in early childhood development and the impact of the media on children discuss the sexualization of childhood as a result of media images and marketing campaigns that encourage youth to be "sexy." They offer advice on how parents can protect their kids from this alarming phenomenon that may leave children with self image issues and misguided perceptions of human sexuality. We will talk about this trend and discuss healthy and nurturing ways to protect the fleeting innocence ofΒ childhood. Reading the book is not required to participate in the discussion. Brilliant Parenting Discussion Group is sponsored by the parents of Water's Edge.Β Meetings are free and open to the public.Β These are adult-only events.Β Simple refreshments will be served.
