Woodland Middle School Geographic Bee set for January 6

Gurnee--Woodland Middle School will host the 2011 National Geographic Bee at 9 a.m., January 6 in the Middle School Learning Resource Center, 7000 Washington Street, Gurnee.

Twenty-three team finalists from 6th, 7th and 8th grade will participate for the first round of the 2011 National Geographic Bee. The winner of the Woodland Middle School Bee will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine state competition.

All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship at the national competition May 24 and 25 in Washington D.C.
