Extra Traffic Patrols Planned Ahead of Thanksgiving
The Lake County Sheriff's Office will be out in full force patrolling area roadways starting on Nov. 16 and continuing through Nov. 26.

LAKE COUNTY, IL – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be out in full force in the week leading up to as well as the days following Thanksgiving. Additional traffic safety patrols will begin on Nov. 16 and continue through Nov. 26.
Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran said the night before Thanksgiving has become one of the "biggest drinking days of the year" and officers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers, according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office news release.
"We urge those who intend to drink on Thanksgiving Eve or any other day, to arrange for a designated driver or other means to get home safely," Curran said. We want everyone to make it to the table on Thanksgiving Day. Extra sheriff’s deputies will be on the roads to ensure motorists arrive safely to their destination.”
