Family Displaced Following Round Lake Beach Fire
The home in the 2500 block of North Mallard Lane has been deemed uninhabitable following the Tuesday afternoon fire

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — A Round Lake Beach family has been displaced after a blaze broke out at the residence Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.
The Round Lake Beach Fire Protection District was called to the home in the 2500 block of North Mallard Lane at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday and found a heavy fire coming from the back of the two-story, single-family residence, according to a news release from the fire protection district.
Firefighters spent 90 minutes working to get the blaze under control. The fire caused extensive damage to the home, which has been deemed uninhabitable, according to the news release.

All residents inside the home were able to safely get out of the residence before fire crews arrived, and no one was injured in the blaze. Homes adjacent to the residence were the blaze started sustained heat damage due to the size and intensity of the fire, fire officials said.
Officials shut southbound Mallard Lane near Monaville Road Tuesday as they worked to battle the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
