FedEx Employees Open Packages, Steal Electronics In Grayslake: Authorities

Two workers at a FedEx warehouse in Grayslake were arrested after they allegedly opened packages and stole electronics from them, prosecutors said.

Lamont L. Pressley, 20, of Waukegan, and Bieyonsai S. Cichocki-Pitts, 21, of North Chicago, were both charged with one count of theft between $500 and $10,000, a Class 3 felony.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Caitlin Valiulis said Cichocki-Pitts and Pressley were both FedEx employees. A loss prevention officer at the FedEx warehouse in Grayslake reported observing the two working together on November 30.

Valiulis said Pressley opened boxes and handed electronics to Cichocki-Pitts.

The officer confronted the two employees and saw they had possession of a couple of AirPods and iPads, which had a total value of over $1,700.

Cichocki-Pitts and Pressley both admitted to stealing the electronics, Valiulis said.

Pressley was also allegedly captured on surveillance video two days prior opening boxes and taking electronics.

Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Cichocki-Pitts and Pressley each held on $15,000 bonds.

Potkonjak also ordered the two suspects to have no contact with each other and no contact with FedEx during the case.

Both of them were released from the Lake County Jail after posting $1,500 cash.

Pressley and Cichocki-Pitts are scheduled to appear in court again on December 22 for status of preliminary hearing.
