Grayslake Central Students Perform Well at FBLA State Conference

Future Business Leaders of America members and advisers from 65 high schools attended the Sixty-seventh Illinois Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference at the Crowne Plaza, Springfield, Illinois, on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25. Over 1,400 members, advisers, and guests from 71 Illinois FBLA chapters registered for the conference. The two-day state conference, with “Legacy of Leadership” as the theme, included activities in personal development, business and leadership training, election of 2017-2018 state officers, and many competitive events.
During the awards program at the conference, Grayslake Central High School FBLA members won the following individual and team competitive events:
- Matt Symonds-1st place Intro to Business (National Qualifier)
- Thomas Nandola, Tom Todd, Jon Todd-4th place E-Business (National Qualifier)
- Megan Lefebvre and Kelsey Ford-5th place Website Design
- Grayson Kern-5th place Client Service
- Ray Bradley-6th place Economics
- Greta Model-10th place Journalism
Megan Lefebvre and Evan Nordman served as voting delegates at the conference in the election of the 2016-2017 Illinois FBLA State Officers. These officers will serve on the 2017-2018 Illinois FBLA Executive Council and their advisers will serve on the Board of Directors.
