Illinois is Home to a Top-Five University, says U.S. News and World Report

U.S. News and World Report recently unveiled their 2015 rankings. Which Illinois universities and colleges received top marks?

We recently reported on college rankings published by Forbes and the Princeton Review, but as far as college rankings go, U.S. News and World Report is still the top kid on the block. Receiving a high mark from them is a feather in the cap for any university or college, and helps make the school more attractive to potential students who may take college rankings in to consideration when they look at schools.

U.S. News and World Report ranks undergraduate programs in four categories: National Universities, National Liberal Arts Colleges, Regional Universities and Regional Colleges. We found the top Illinois schools in the first two categories.

There were 10 Illinois universities ranked in the National Universities category, including two schools in the top 15, one of which landed in the top five nationally.

While no liberal arts colleges in Illinois landed in the top five, there were still eight schools nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report, includingthree schools in the top 100.
