Illinois State Rep. Sam Yingling Tests Positive For Coronavirus
The Democrat and Grayslake resident wrote in a social media post that he was diagnosed last week after experiencing cold-like symptoms.

GRAYSLAKE, IL – Illinois State Representative and Grayslake resident Sam Yingling is quarantined to his home after he announced Monday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Yingling wrote in a Facebook post that he tested positive for the virus last week after he experienced symptoms that he initially believed were allergy-related. The symptoms, he said, include sinus drainage and congestion, but quickly evolved into cold-like symptoms, including a sore throat and coughing as well as chest congestion, headache, fatigue and body aches.
He wrote that as soon as he learned of his diagnosis, Yingling immediately alerted anyone he knowingly had come into contacted and encouraged them to get tested immediately.

“We all have a responsibility to slow and stop the spread of the virus by wearing face coverings, staying 6 feet apart, and getting tested if we have symptoms or have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19,” the 40-year-old Democrat wrote in the Facebook post.
“This is a very real virus that is proliferating in our communities and residents need to remain vigilant by following the protocols outlined by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Lake County Health Department. This is a highly contagious and opportunistic virus that does not discriminate.”

Yingling, who has served District 62 since 2013, wrote in the post that his office in Round Lake Beach will remain open but said that under health guidelines, he will remain quarantined at home.
