Informant, Authorities Botch Grayslake Woman’s Attempt to Rob Branch of Credit Union Where She Once Worked
Yvette Pedrero has been charged in federal court after she tried to rob Community Trust Credit Union in Grayslake last week.

A 23-year-old Grayslake woman has been charged in federal court after she attempted to rob a Grayslake credit union last week, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Authorities stopped Yvette Pedrero, 23, from robbing the Community Trust Credit Union at 1263 N. Route 83 in Grayslake last Thursday after an informant, who Pedrero had recruited to help with the robbery, told authorities of her plans, according to the article. Pedrero said she had hoped to rob branches of the Community Trust Credit Union, a credit union where she formerly worked, in Grayslake and Gurnee.
The informant initially denied Pedrero’s request to help with the robbery, but after contacting authorities, the acquaintance agreed to work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and, under the FBI’s direction, texted Pedrero last Tuesday to say he would help with the robbery, according to the Daily Herald.

Pedrero was arrested as the two walked toward the entrance of the Grayslake credit union shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday.
