Lake County Government: St. Mary's Road To Close For 21 Days

Mettawa, IL- The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) in conjunction with Canadian National Railroad, on behalf of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway (EJ&E RR), will be temporarily closing St. Mary’s Road between IL 176 and IL 60. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and is scheduled to reopen late afternoon Monday, Sept. 27. The work is being done as part of the resurfacing of St. Mary's Road, which is also adding bike friendly shoulders, drainage improvements, and improvements to the EJ&E RR pavement approach at the existing railroad crossing.

DETOUR ROUTE: IL 176 to IL 21 to IL 60.

Local traffic will have access from IL 176 south to the railroad crossing and from IL 60 north to the railroad crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
