Lightning Strike Sunday Likely Cause of Roof Fire

VERNON HILLS, IL - A lightning strike is believed to have caused a roof fire at a home in Vernon Hills on Sunday morning, according to the Daily Herald.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in the 1700 block of Sawgrass Street at about 9 a.m. All occupants were able to safely get out of the home, and the firefighters were able to quickly get the blaze under control, according to the article.
