Grayslake Man With 'Arsenal' Of Guns In Home Arrested: Police
The 49-year-old Grayslake-area man threatened to kill family members and to have a shootout with police, authorities said.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — A 49-year-old man who police say threatened to kill his family members and have a shootout with authorities is behind bars.
RB Warrens, 49, of the 33400 block of Lakeshore Drive in unincorporated Grayslake, remains behind bars Monday morning on a $750,000 bail. He faces aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest charges.
On Friday, authorities received a report from a family member who said Warrens — who is reportedly anti-government and had "an arsenal" of firearms — threatened to kill them and shoot anyone who tried to get the family member out of the house.

Deputies obtained a firearms restraining order, search warrant and arrest warrant for Warrens for electronic harassment. The sheriff's office's tactical response team conducted surveillance of Warrens' home and saw him leaving the residence at about 10:40 p.m. Friday.
Authorities pulled him over, and police said that while officers tried to take him into custody, he reached into his clothing. K9 Dax was released and bit his arm, which allowed for officers to arrest him.

A loaded pistol was recovered from the area where Warrens was reaching, police said.
Warrens was taken to an area hospital and was treated for a dog bite. He was treated and released back into police custody before he was taken to the Lake County Jail.
When authorities searched his home they found dozens of firearms, including high-powered rifles, shotguns, AK-47s and pistols, as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
"Based on the placement of the firearms throughout the home, it was clear to sheriff’s deputies that Warrens was anticipating law-enforcement’s involvement and prepared to have a deadly shootout," according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
A bond review hearing in the case is set for Wednesday.
