Man Critically Injured After Being Involved In 2 Crashes
The 29-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries in the second crash near Lake Villa, police say.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 29-year-old man was critically injured after he was ejected from his vehicle following a crash near Lake Villa Friday evening. Police say it appears the same man was also involved in a hit-and-run crash in Ingleside prior to the collision on Route 59 and Monaville Road in unincorporated Lake Villa.
Police say the Lake Villa crash happened at about 5:20 p.m. when a 2001 Ford 250 was heading north on Route 59, attempting to pass another vehicle, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Due to the wet pavement, the Ford lost control and slid into a traffic standard at the intersection.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and has been transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical injuries that are considered life-threatening.
