Man Killed After Driving Car Under Semi

The crash happened in Wadsworth Tuesday afternoon.

A 54-year-old Wisconsin man was killed in a crash after he drove partially under the trailer of a semi-truck Tuesday afternoon.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 54 year-old man from Hales Corners, Wis., was traveling on east on I-94 at about 1:38 p.m.. The driver of the Chevrolet exited I-94 on the off-ramp for Russell Road. Upon coming to the stop sign at Russell Road, the driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield to a westbound 2005 Kenworth Semi-Truck, driven by a 50 year-old man of Mundelein, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The Chevrolet drove partially underneath the trailer of the Kenworth and sustained significant damage.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Saint Catherine’s Medical Center in Kenosha with critical injuries. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at Saint Catherine’s. The driver of the Kenworth was uninjured.
