Man On Riding Lawn Mower Hit By Car, Critically Injured
The incident happened Saturday evening near Lake Villa. Police say the lawn mower did not have any lights on.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 62-year-old man was critically injured after a car hit his riding lawn mower on Route 59 Saturday evening near Lake Villa.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at Route 59 and Amber Way in unincorporated Lake Villa. The man was riding on a Craftsman riding mower that did not have any lights and was also wearing dark-colored clothing, police say.
A 2010 Ford Escape heading south on Route 59 hit the riding mower. An ambulance took the man, who sustained life-threatening injuries, to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the Escape, a 40-year-old Spring Grove woman, was not injured. Three children inside the vechicle also did not sustain any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
