He managed to escape from the back of a squad car Tuesday afternoon in Third Lake, police said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL – A Romeoville man who tried to use a fraudulent prescription at a pharmacy in Third Lake Tuesday now faces felony charges after he managed to escape after being taken into police custody, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to the pharmacy, in the 343000 block of North Route 45, at about 2:45 p.m. and arrested Salvador A. Leo, 25, of the 0 to 100 block of Arlington Drive in Romeoville, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. He was handcuffed and put into the back of a squad car.

While deputies returned to the store to speak to the pharmacist, Leo managed to escape from the squad car, authorities said. A perimeter was established around the area and additional members from the sheriff's office, Gurnee Police Department, Grayslake Police Department and College of Lake County Police Department were called to assist in locating Leo.

As the search was underway, a resident living in a neighborhood west of the pharmacy called to report he saw someone matching Leo's description, police said. Authorities found Leo near the front of the home on Seafarer Lane, according to the news release.
