The collision comes days after a Metra passenger died after a train hit a semi-truck in Clarendon Hills. The death was the second incident in Metra's 40-year history that a passenger was killed.

Two other passengers and two crew members were injured in that crash, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening, Metra spokeswoman Meg Riley said.
