Niche: The Best Overall Colleges in Illinois for 2015

Niche.com ranked the “best overall” colleges in the country using 50 sets of statistics from various government and public sources; nearly 12 million opinion-based survey responses from roughly 300,000 current and former students; as well as the website’s own proprietary data.

Thirty-six of Illinois’ colleges were ranked and given grades for factors including academics, campus quality, diversity, health and safety, the party scene and local area, among others.

Based on Niche’s methodology -- which is complex -- these are the best overall colleges in Illinois for 2015.

And after October’s worrisome jobless report, the Illinois unemployment rate fell in November, but it wasn’t good news for every industry.
