• Grayslake Clears an $18 Billion Data Center Despite a Lawsuit to Stop It (startupfortune.com) — Grayslake officials have issued the first building permit for a massive $18 billion AI data center campus, launching site work even as a resident-backed lawsuit seeks to overturn village approvals. The project, in the Cornerstone of Grayslake business park, could span 20 buildings and generate an estimated $1.4 billion in property taxes over 20 years. A Lake County judge will weigh the challenge at an October 30 status hearing.
