Police Arrest Man Found Hiding in Bush for Attempted Burglary
Glenn E. Trauthwein now faces several felony charges after police said he tried to break into the Family Pantry.

Lake County Sheriffβs Office deputies arrested a 33-year-old Lake Villa man for attempting to break into a Mundelein business early Tuesday, police said.
Glenn E. Trauthwein is charged with attempted burglary (a Class 3 felony), criminal damage to property (a Class 4 felony) and possession of burglary tools (a class 4 felony). He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $25,000 bond, according to a Lake County Sheriffβs Office press release.
Deputies responded to the Family Pantry, 21190 Commercial Drive in Mundelein, at 2:30 a.m. where they found Trauthwein hiding in the bushes at the rear of the business, according to the news release.

Upon inspecting the building, police found the wires to the alarm system had been cut and the rear door to the building βhad sustained extensive damage in what appeared to be an attempted forced entry,β according to police.
Deputies found a police scanner, pry bars, drills and lock-picking tools near the door, according to the news release.

In Trauthweinβs vehicle, deputies said they found industrial magnets believed to be used for defeating magnetic door locks.
Trauthwein is next expected in court in Lake County on Jan. 23.
