Pregnant Mom Killed In Accidental Shooting Identified: Coroner
Isha Windom of Beach Park was 22 weeks pregnant at the time of the shooting. Her unborn child died as well, authorities said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL -- The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the 25-year-old pregnant woman who was fatally shot by her husband earlier this month as Isha Windom of Beach Park. An autopsy revealed Windom died from a gunshot wound to the head four days following the shooting, which happened at about 2 p.m. on Dec. 11 at a Round Lake home, authorities said. Her unborn child, a boy, died from injuries caused to his mother while in utero, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said in a statement Thursday.
Windom was 22 weeks pregnant at the time of her death, according to the coroner's office. Isha planned to name the baby Avion Lee Quinn and also had an 11-month-old son, Alvin Lee Quinn, according to a GoFundMe page set up to cover costs for a funeral and for the continued care of Alvin.
Meanwhile, Windom's husband, Alvin L. Quinn, is being held on a $2 million bail at the Lake County Jail on charges of involuntary manslaughter of an unborn child and reckless discharge of a firearm in connection with the accidental shooting spurred over a fight with another man at a home the couple used to rent, according to online charges.

That fight occurred after Quinn and Windom went to the residence in the 600 block of West Nippersink Road in Round Lake at about 2 p.m. on Dec. 11 to get some items they left behind after moving to Zion, authorities said.
Quinn brought a gun along and a struggle between a man at the home and Quinn ended with Quinn accidentally firing the weapon, according to authorities and family members of Windom. A bullet went through the door of the home in the 600 block of West Nippersink Road in Round Lake and struck Windom in the head, the Daily Herald reports.

Windom was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition. An emergency c-section was performed but baby Avion did not survive, family members wrote on the GoFundMe page.
Windwom was later pronounced dead on Dec. 15 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, authorities said.
Windom is being remembered as a selfless, caring and considerate woman who loved being a mom and was looking forward to the birth of her second child. Following her death, Windom's family decided to donate Isha's organs, a decision they said Isha would have wanted.
"Because Isha was such a special soul, even in this tragic situation, Isha would have wanted to help others," family members wrote on the GoFundMe page, adding that she'd like to see her organs save someone else's life. They referred to the shooting as a "senseless act of violence."
As of Friday morning, the GoFundMe page set up by Isha's family had raised $2,200. Her family is hoping to raise a total of $30,000. Those interested in donating can do so here.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Authorities have said more charges will likely be filed against Quinn.
