Mundelein Man Arrested for Excessive Speeding in Libertyville

The man was traveling nearly 40 mph over the speed limit on Butterfield Road earlier this month.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - A 22-year-old Mundelein man was arrested earlier this month for excessive speeding after police officers clocked him driving 78 mph in a 40 mph zone on Butterfield Road, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

Miguel A. Loeza Avila, of 528 W. Hawley Street, was pulled over on Butterfield Road near Butterfield Lane at 11:15 p.m. on May 4. He was charged with excessive speeding and was also cited fordisplaying a blue instead of a clear registration light.

Avila’s vehicle was towed and he was arrested, taken into custody and processed. He was later released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 8 court date.
