Brightstar Employee Arrested for Stealing Cell Phone She Hid in Makeup Box
Police were called to the Brightstar Warehouse for the reported theft on May 27.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL - An employee at Brightstar in Libertyville was arrested last month after a security officer found a cell phone hidden in her makeup box, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.
Mayra Cruz, 27, of 38569 N. Sheridan Road in Beach Park, was arrested for theft after police were called to the Brightstar Warehouse at 10:30 p.m. on May 27, according to the police report.
A security officer found a Samsung Galaxy, valued at between $600 and $700, concealed in a false bottom in Cruz’s makeup box. Police arrested Cruz and took her into custody for processing.

She was later released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a June 10 court date.
