There’s no better time to invest in yourself than now. Registration is open for fall classes at College of Lake County (CLC), offering affordable tuition, flexible course options and personalized support to help students take the next step toward a degree, certificate or transfer pathway. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 17.
Even with already affordable prices, financial aid helps students graduate with little or no debt. To be eligible for scholarships and grants, students can get help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid.
At CLC, we build class schedules for people trying to fit life into the few blank spaces on your online calendar. Create a schedule that balances with real life with online, in-person and hybrid learning offerings. Courses are available at the Grayslake, Lakeshore and Southlake Campuses and Advanced Technology Center in Gurnee.

Academic support services help students stay on track toward their goals. Free advising, tutoring, Wi-Fi hotspots and laptop rentals are just some of the ways students can get the help they need.
“Students don't need to have every step of their future mapped out before they begin at CLC,” said Director Student Recruitment and Onboarding Dr. Jacob Cushing. “Our job is to help take that first step with confidence, whether students are pursuing a degree, preparing for a new career or planning to transfer. We're here to support them from application through their first day of class and beyond.”

CLC’s course offering is always evolving with the workforce. This fall, five new credentials are being offered:
Enter the growing field of biotechnology as a lab technician
Prepare tax returns, advise clients and respond to IRS notices requiring action
Manage and secure internet-based server, storage, database, networking and software systems
- Multimedia Storytelling certificate
Use text, images, graphics, audio, video and interactive platforms to tell stories
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Workforce Preparation certificate
Provide comprehensive support to people and communities struggling with substance use disorders
There’s more to enjoy at CLC beyond the classroom. Whether you want to join clubs or play sports, there are plenty of ways to get involved. If you don’t see the right spot for you, reach out to the Student Activities & Inclusion department to learn how to start something new.
“The hardest part is often getting started,” Cushing said. “Our teams are ready to help students navigate the application, advising, registration, financial aid and every step of the enrollment process so they can focus on achieving their goals.”
The Welcome and One Stop Center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Aug. 8, 15 and 22 to help with any questions.
