'Suspicious' Fire, Explosion Investigated Near Antioch: Police
The fire and explosion happened in the 26200 block of West Forest Court in unincorporated Antioch on Wednesday.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A fire and explosion that happened at a home near Antioch Wednesday is "suspicious in nature," police said.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to the 26200 block of West Forest Court after a resident called to report they'd heard an explosion and that their neighbor's house was on fire, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Firefighters arrived and were able to quickly put out the blaze, authorities said. Police say the home and two vehicles parked outside the residence sustained significant damage.

Evidence found inside the home indicated the fire is suspicious in nature, according to authorities. The incident remains under investigation arson investigators with the sheriff's office, the Antioch Fire Protection District and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
