Underage Drinking, DUI Arrests, Several Citations Handed Out During Lake Co. Enforcement Effort
The increased enforcement effort was held from 9 p.m. on May 27 through 3 a.m. on May 28.

Police officers were out in full force in Lake County over the Memorial Day weekend and issued several tickets as part of an increased enforcement effort to cut back on traffic violations.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with Illinois State Police and Fox Lake Police Department from 9 p.m. on May 27 through 3 a.m. on May 28 as part of the high visibility enforcement campaign was timed to begin with increased travel for the Memorial Day weekend, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

- Two DUI Arrests
- Two Possession of Cannabis Arrests
- Three Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrests
- Two Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor Arrests
- Two Possession of Fraudulent Identification Arrests
- One Warrant Arrest
- Nine Speeding Citations Issued
- Two Failure to Wear a Seatbelt Citations Issued
- 12 Other Traffic Citations Issued
“We were successfully able to keep motorists safe in the ‘Chain O’Lakes’ area thanks to the combined efforts of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Fox Lake Police Department, and Illinois State Police,” Undersheriff Ray Rose said.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will continue to have partnerships with the Illinois State Police and Fox Lake Police Department in June to keep the motoring public safe.
