Second Teen Arrested In Armed Robbery In Garage

The armed robbery happened in Round Lake Park Sunday evening.

ROUND LAKE PARK, IL — A second teen has been arrested and charged following an armed robbery inside a Round Lake Park garage over the weekend. The 17-year-old, whose name is not being released since he is a juvenile, was taken into custody Monday evening.

The teen has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated armed robbery, two counts of robbery and battery.

Another 17-year-old arrested Sunday evening shortly after the robbery in Round Lake Park, police said. Authorities were called to the 300 Block of Elder Drive at about 7 p.m. after two teens allegedly entered a garage and held a person at knife point. The two took a cell phone and jewelry.

The first teen was taken into custody by responding officers. The teen, was charged with armed robbery, a class x felony; aggravated armed robbery, a class 1 felony; and robbery, a class 2 felony, according to a news release.

Both teens were taken to Depke Juvenile Detention Center.
