Village Board To Consider Railroad Track Improvement Propsal

GRAYSLAKE, IL — The Grayslake Village Board on Tuesday will consider a resolution that would support Canadian National Railroad plans to plan, design and construct a double track infrastructure, which would run through town.

The "necessary" improvements would be located along the North Central Service Corridor between Lake Street in Grayslake and Hook Drive in Grayslake, according to a village board agenda. The proposal would come before the village board during a Tuesday meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

If approved, the resolutions states the village would support any future improvements that would would improve freight and commuter rail operations and "thereby enhance" traffic flow in town.
