• Investigation and Arrests in May Carbondale Incident – 700 Block South Lewis Lane (wmclradio.com) — A Harrisburg teenager has been charged in connection with a May 13 shooting in Carbondale, and was taken into custody with help from Harrisburg Police and the Saline County Sheriff’s Department. Multiple people face charges after a quarrel escalated into gunfire, and Carbondale Police are still asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers. 
• Former State Senator Dale Fowler Begins New Chapter as President of University Correctional Healthcare Solutions (wsiu.org) — A longtime Southern Illinois public official, former state senator Dale Fowler, is taking over as president of University Correctional Health Care Solutions, which serves youth facilities including IYC Harrisburg. His new role focuses on improving healthcare in correctional settings, drawing on decades of experience with state corrections and juvenile justice agencies across the region.
• Terriers shine brightest at state track meet (bnd.com) — Harrisburg pole vaulter Mason Howton placed 16th at 13 feet, 5.5 inches in the Class 2A state track meet, representing the town on a big statewide stage. The meet was dominated by Carbondale’s historic third-place team finish and several standout performances from other southern Illinois schools, highlighting strong regional talent across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws.
