2 Face Drug Felonies Following Kesha's Ravinia Debut: HP Blotter
A car stolen with keys left in unlocked locker; a pair of bikes stolen from garage: Highland Park police blotter from Aug. 26 to Sept. 8.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a car from a parking lot in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road around 7 a.m. on Aug. 26 after the keys were stolen from an unlocked locker at LA Fitness, police were told. Chicago police identified the vehicle with an automated license plate reader on Sept. 7 in the 500 block of West Belmont Avenue in Chicago. Two people were arrested and charged in Cook County.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a purse worth $1,900 from a car parked in the 1300 block of Clavey Road at some point prior to 3:07 p.m. on Aug. 26. Police did not specify if it was locked at the time.
DEFACEMENT
A resident in the 2600 block of Washington Avenue reported at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 30 that there was graffiti in an alley between Waukegan Avenue and Logan Street.

THEFT
A shopper at the Jewel-Osco, 1600 Deerfield Road, reported around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 4 that someone stole a wallet from a shopping cart.
GARAGE BURGLARY
A resident in the 200 block of Lakeside Place reported around 11 p.m. Sept. 8 that someone had stolen two bicycles from an unlocked garage sometime after 7:30 p.m. that night.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Willie Lockett Jr., 39, of the 600 block of Massena Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 1 a.m. Aug. 26 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater, and ticketed for speeding 26 to 34 MPH above limit after officers pulled over a car he was driving in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.
Rachael Spano, 56, of the 900 block of Cambridge Drive, Grayslake, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Aug. 31 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash after officers were dispatched to a report of a car striking a gate in the 500 block of Skokie Valley Road.
Juan Martinez, 37, of the 2500 block of North McVicker Avenue, Chicago, was arrested shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and and charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road.
Feliciano Ocampo-Rodriguez, 50, of the 3500 block of West 65th Place, Chicago, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Sept. 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a citation for improper lane usage following a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.
Kenneth Sommer, 45, of the 1200 block of Briarcliff Lane, Highland Park, was arrested shortly after 2:30 p.m. Aug. 26 on an in-state warrant for failure to appear in court for a previous theft charge by officers who responded to his complaint that someone had stolen personal items. A judge dismissed the case two days later.
Bibiano Rubio, 18, of the 1600 block of 10th Court, Waukegan, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. Aug. 30 on an in-state warrant after officers were called to a report of a dispute in the 900 block of Deerfield Road.
A 67-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 7 p.m. Sept. 3 and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road. He was also issued a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Two people were arrested after security at Ravinia Festival called police to report they discovered suspected narcotics on attendees ahead of Kesha's first performance at the outdoor music venue in the 200 block of St. John's Avenue. Daren Escalante, 31, of the 3300 block of Bristol Road, Waukegan, was arrested at 6 p.m. with two pills of unspecified origin and Nina Madesen, 24, of the 1000 block of S. Myrtle Avenue, Villa Park, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. with a powder of unknown origin. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance. The suspected drugs were sent to the crime lab for identification and both of those arrested were released on bond following hearings on the felony charge.
