2nd HPHS Student Gets Perfect ACT Score
Thomas Allen Wehner joins Daniella Cohen as juniors at the school who hit the coveted 36 mark.
Highland Park High School junior Thomas Allen Wehner is the second student at the school this year to achieve a perfect ACT score.
Wehner scored a 36 on the test that consists of English, mathematics, reading and science. East test is scored from 1-36, and the composite score is the average among them.
It was reported in March that Daniella Cohen - also a HPHS junior - earned the perfect score as well.

According to news release issued Thursday, on average less than one-tenth of one percent of students who take the ACT earns the top score. Among ACT-tested U.S. high school graduates in the class of 2014, only 1,407 out of 1.85 million students earned a composite score of 36.
“While test scores are just one of the many criteria that most colleges consider when making admission decisions, your exceptional ACT composite score should prove helpful as you pursue your education and career goals,” ACT CEO Jon Whitmore wrote in a letter recognizing Wehner’s and Cohen’s exceptional achievements.
