5 DUI Arrests Over Holiday; Car, Liquor, Phone Stolen: HP Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Highland Park Police Department blotter for the week of Dec. 24 to Dec. 30.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and court records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a car that was left unlocked and with its engine on from the 600 block of Roger Williams Avenue a few minutes before 6 p.m. on Dec. 23.
PACKAGE THEFT
A thief stole a package that had been delivered to a front porch in the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue prior to 3 p.m. on Dec. 21.

PHONE THEFT
A patron at a barbecue restaurant in the 600 block of Central Avenue reported that someone grabbed their iPhone off of a table and ran out of the eatery prior to 4 p.m. on Dec. 23.
LIQUOR THEFT
Staff at the CVS in the 1500 block of Clavey Road reported that two unidentified male shoplifters stole about $170 worth of alcohol around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

CAR BURGLARY
An unlocked vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Princeton Avenue was burglarized during the overnight hours of Dec. 26 to Dec. 27, but nothing was reported stolen.
ARRESTS
Ryan Martin Saint, 27, of the 2000 block of Kentucky Avenue, North Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to an apartment in the 300 block of Green Bay Road around 5 a.m. on Dec. 15.
Diana Taylor, 32, of the 700 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 and charged with two counts of domestic battery after officers were called to an argument at her home.
Randy Pallares-Guzman, 29, of the 200 block of South Chicago Avenue, Mundelein, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 22 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers pulled over a car he was driving in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was also issued citations for possession of under 10 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Emmanuel Cahue, 29, with no address specified, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 22 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also issued citations for speeding 26 to 34 mph over the limit and illegal transportation of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Park Avenue. In the same incident, Katherine Lepe, 29, of North Chicago, was arrested and charged with interference with public officers.
Arturo Rodriguez-Nunez, 24, of the 3400 block of Howard Street, Park City, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. on Dec. 23 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol – he had two or more prior DUI convictions and a license already suspended for DUI – and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal possession of a cannabis following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Parkside Avenue.
Richard McKeever, 37, of the 3600 block of 50th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested around 4 a.m. on Dec. 26 and charged driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding 35 mph or more above the limit following a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Okan Esmez, 29, of the 900 block of Northwest Holcomb Drive, Mundelein, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers investigated an occupied vehicle in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Park Avenue.
