HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

On Sept. 11 at 5:44 p.m., it was reported someone had stolen a wallet that was left outside a business located in the 1300 block of Half Day Road.

On Sept. 13 at 6:40 a.m., it was reported that someone had entered an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Barberry Road and stole various items during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13.

Later on in the morning of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone had entered an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Barberry Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.

Also on the morning of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered an unlocked car in the 400 block of Barberry Road and stole various items during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13.
STOLEN VEHICLE
On Sept. 13 around 10 a.m., it was reported that someone stole a vehicle from a business located in the 0 – 100 block of Skokie Valley Road between July 20 and Sept. 13.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On the morning of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone had entered an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Barberry Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.

On the afternoon of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked in the 700 block of Barberry Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.
THEFT
On the afternoon of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered two unlocked vehicles and stole various items located in the 600 block of Barberry Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13.

On the afternoon of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered two unlocked vehicles located in the 500 block of Skokie Avenue during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.

On the evening of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone had entered three unlocked vehicles located in the 500 block of Sumac Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On the evening of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone went inside an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Skokie Avenue during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.

On the evening of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered a car parked in the 500 block of Sumac Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13. No items were reported missing.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On the evening of Sept. 13, it was reported that someone entered an unlocked car and stole various items located in the 500 block of Barberry Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 12-13.
THEFT
On the morning of Sept. 14, it was reported that sopmeone stole multiple items from an individual while at a business located in the 600 block of Central Avenue between 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 7:26 a.m. on Sept. 13.
BURGLARY ATTEMPT
On the morning of Sept. 14, it was reported that someone had attempted to enter a residence located in the 900 block of Ridgewood Drive during the overnight hours of Sept. 13 and 14.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On the afternoon of Sept. 15, it was reported that an someone entered an unlocked car in the 500 block of Sumac Road between Sept. 12th and 14th. No items were reported missing.
THEFT
On the evening of Sept. 16 it was reported that an unidentified man and woman stole a package from a residence located in the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
INTERFERENCE WITH PUBLIC OFFICERS
Gilez Casarrubias, 20, of the 100 block of Highwood Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with interference with public officers and cited over a bicycle equipment violation after police observed suspicious activity near the intersection of Old Skokie Road and Old Deerfield Road around 1 a.m. on Sept. 13. Police did not explain how he interfered or the nature of any suspicious activity.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
A 21-year-old Indiana woman was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and driving without lights when required on Sept. 14 at 8:17 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Central Avenue.
AGGRAVATED DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Eva M. Stritecky, 46, of the 700 block of Nolan Avenue, Glendale Heights was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence and driving under the influence on Sept. 15 at 11:52 p.m. after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Ridge Road.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
A 33-year-old Waukegan man was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and issued a citation for speeding 21 – 25 mph over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway on Sept. 18 around 1:37 a.m..
VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION
Brian T. Witek, 63, of the 5600 block of Howard Street in Skokie, was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection after police received a complaint regarding Witek. He turned himself in at 1677 Old Deerfield Road on Sept. 18 at 5:46 a.m. and was transported to bond court in Waukegan.
