Highland Park Police Blotter: Sept. 5 - Sept. 11

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

RETAIL THEFT

On Sept. 7, an unidentified man reportedly stole undisclosed merchandise from an undisclosed business in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road around 2 p.m.

THEFT

On Sept. 8, police were told that an unidentified man stole multiple pieces of merchandise from a business located in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

On Sept. 8, it was reported that someone broke into an unoccupied home in the 1700 block of Ridge Road, but it was not immediately known if any items were stolen.

CAR BURGLARY

On Sept. 9, police were told someone had entered an unlocked vehicle in teh 100 block of Wainwright Street and stole multiple items in the overnight hours of Sept. 8-9.

CAR BURGLARY

On the afternoon of Sept. 9, police were told someone had entered an unlocked vehicle in the 3000 block of Eisenhower Road and stole multiple items between 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 and 1 p.m. on Sept. 9.

CAR BURGLARY

Also on the afternoon of Sept. 9, it was reported that another vehicle in the 3000 block of Eisenhower Road was entered and multiple items were stolen during the previous overnight hours.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On the morning of Sept. 10, it was reported that someone damaged the exterior of a residential property in the 500 block of Green Bay Road between 8:45 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 9.

THEFT

On Sept. 10, police were told that someone stole a foldable speed bump and a sign from the 100 block of Johnston Drive during the overnight hours of Sept. 9-10.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

RETAIL THEFT

A woman was issued an administrative citation for retail theft after she attempted to steal merchandise from a business in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road.

DRUGS

Lewis S. Rosenbloom, 64, of the 1500 block of Mill Trail, was arrested on Sept 9 at 7:27 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police were notified by Ravinia security personnel that a man had a vial containing a suspicious substance on the night of a Stevie Nicks performance. Police said the of substance, made up of 0.7 grams of white powder, field tested positive for cocaine.
