Auxiliary of NorthShore Highland Park Hospital Calls for Community Support

As The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Highland Park Hospital celebrates 90 years in the community, it continues to seek donations to provide invaluable programs to its local residents.

This volunteer group has already made a lasting impact on the entire NorthShore  Highland Park Hospital community.  Its members have led the fundraising efforts to provide numerous improvements to the hospital, including the renovated emergency room, the Primary Stroke Center and the new Ambulatory  Care Center.  The Auxiliary also focuses on community services projects such as the LifeSource Blood Drive, NorthShore Kids’ Corner, Mobile Meals, Remembrance Fund, Employee Scholarship Fund and the Highland Park High School Student Board.

This year, among other initiatives, the Auxiliary is raising funds for a unique program receiving national attention.  With over 54,000 adult Lake County residents diagnosed with diabetes, Be Well-Lake County is a vital asset to those impacted by the disease.  Be Well-Lake County is a community health initiative committed to providing greater access to comprehensive diabetes care for medically underserved patients. NorthShore is collaborating with the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) to provide high quality diabetes treatment, education, and support resources to enable improved diabetes outcomes. Be Well-Lake County offers a coordinated network of patient-centered healthcare services to patients and their families.
