Scott Amdur, born and raised in Highland Park, currently residing in Evergreen, Colo., recently won four regional awards for his emergency medical expertise and devoted service in Colorado’s mountain community. The roots
of his community service began in Highland Park, where he and his family have historically helped grow and serve the community.
A paramedic for Clear Creek County,
located in the foothills outside of Denver, Scott was named the Clear Creek EMS Provider of the Year for recognition from his peers for going “above and beyond in the
provision of medical services and support to his community and his colleagues.” Scott also became the first non-member recipient of wilderness-emergency Alpine Rescue Team’s Bent Piton Award for his medical contributions during a recent mountain rescue. Most recently, the president of the Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado bestowed him with the EMSAC Paramedic’s Paramedic Award for the way Scott “helped countless people - friend, neighbor and stranger alike - when they have needed it the most on the highway, in homes and businesses and on the ountainside.” And, the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office presented him with an award for his “commitment to providing extraordinary assistance and support.”
Scott’s emergency medical expertise and devoted service have impacted many lives in Colorado’s mountain community and beyond. These accolades confirm the
respect he has earned from his peers, statewide organizations and local residents -- especially during his personal medical trauma, as he fights brain cancer.

Scott was born in Highland Park in 1961, and attended Highland Park High School (‘79). Although living in Colorado for 20 years, his community mindedness was instilled by his deceased parents, Barbara and Steven Amdur, where his work with his father at Steven L. Amdur
Realty helped revitalize Highland Park’s Port Clinton Square and Chicago’s River North. Scott maintains his North Shore community connection through his property ownership at Port Clinton Square, as well as through his earlier work
with his sister, Amy Amdur, and her celebrated art festivals throughout greater Chicago.
