Drury is a former federal prosecutor who worked under Patrick J. Fitzgerald for over seven years.  As a first-time candidate, Drury seeks to usher in a new era of government in Illinois.  Sepulveda likes that message.  “Scott’s honesty and integrity are unmatched – he represents a true shift in the values we want our representatives to have.”

Drury immediately recognized the significance of earning Sepulveda’s support.  “In this day and age, it is rare for a respected member of any party to cross party lines to endorse the person he truly believes to be the best for the job,” stated Drury.  “Mr. Sepulveda’s endorsement of our campaign is a courageous and significant act, and for that, I am honored and humbled.”

When asked about the broader meaning of Mr. Sepulveda’s endorsement, Drury stated: “From the beginning, I have sought to be an independent voice who will work with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.  This endorsement is the most recent example of our campaign being one of actions, not words.”

Drury grew up in Highland Park and now lives in Highwood with his wife, Shelby, and two children.  He is an advisor for Deerfield High School’s Mock Trial Team and an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law.

The new 58th District includes all or portions of Bannockburn, Deerfield, Glencoe, Highland Park, Highwood, Knollwood, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Lincolnshire, Northbrook, North Chicago and Riverwoods.  The general election is on November 6, 2012.
