HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

SHOPLIFTING
A pair of male shoplifters stole a printer and another unidentified item from the Staples, 1931 Skokie Valley Road, prior to about 5 p.m. on June 17. They left in a sedan, but no description was available.

VANDALISM
Graffiti expressing anti-police sentiments was discovered on rock formations on the edge of the beach near the 3400 block of Patten Road around 7:30 p.m. on June 17.

STOLEN CAR
Someone stole an unlocked Audi SUV that had been left unlocked in a driveway in the 800 block of Woodleigh Avenue between 7 p.m. and 11:54 p.m. on June 17. A key fob, purse and various other items that had been left inside were also taken. Chicago police found the vehicle the next day.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole cash and a charging cord after rummaging through a Cadillac SUV that had been parked in a driveway in the 1700 block of Ridgelee Road between 10 p.m. June 10 and 8 a.m. June 12. Police were told the vehicle automatically locks, so it was not clear how someone was able to get inside.

THEFT
Someone stole a pair of gas-powered leaf blowers and a bottle of deer spray from a landscaping trailer that had been left open while parked in the 1600 block of Forest Avenue prior to 9 a.m. on June 18. No reported loss was specified.

CAR/SHED BURGLARY
A resident in the 1000 block of Hilcrest Avenue reported around 5:30 p.m. on June 18 that someone rummaged though an unlocked Kia and stole binoculars from inside about five days earlier. The resident also reported someone forced their way into a locked shed but did not steal anything from inside.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Erica Rodriguez, 39, and Jennifer Soto, 19, both of the 300 block of North Green Bay Road, Waukegan, were arrested around 1:45 a.m. on June 21 and charged with disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to a report of a dispute at a home in the 2400 block of Trillium Lane, Highland Park. That afternoon, police were told damage to the passenger side window of a Chevy may have occurred during the incident.
