The Art Center-Highland Park Announces Its 56th Annual Gala

A Night of Art Expression, Entertainment, Edibles and Awards will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (APRIL, 2016)The Art Center – Highland Park (TAC) 56th Annual Gala: "The Art of Expression" is right around the corner Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7 p.m. This popular benefit promises a night bursting with art, entertainment, awards and decadent food and drink and is TAC’s largest fundraising event of the fiscal year to make art accessible to everyone throughout the year. With only 300 tickets available, this event is always highly anticipated and sells out quickly.

"We’re really excited for The Art of Expression Gala which is by far our largest event of the year that supports major operating expenses for The Art Center, as well as art scholarships, classes, workshops, exhibitions, programs and events,” says Gabrielle Rousso, Executive Director of TAC. “Through these expressive works of contemporary art, one can feel a sense of renewal and optimism, the surge of spirit that new life and the feeling spring brings.”

The lively works presented at The Art of Expression Exhibit depict massive fields of color, shape, texture and spirit by contemporary artists whose works are represented by McCormick Gallery Chicago and Joy Horwich Gallery +2.

Celebrated arts professionals, leaders and supporters are expected to gather for this highly anticipated annual casual cocktail chic event, featuring outstanding entertainment by Imperial Boxmen’s atmospheric genres of music. As well as fabulous food provided by An Apple A Day Catering, The Bent Fork, Bluegrass, Catered By Design, Events By Michael’s, Lou Malnati’s Pizza, Miramar Bistro, Nieto’s, Real Russian Vodka By Premiere Distillery LLC, Stolen Rum, Sunset Food Cateringand Vin Chicago .

This year, TAC’s is presenting awards to three honorees: Meg Siegler Callahan and Jonathan Plotkin (current TAC Board of Directors) and TAC faculty honoree, Kay Thomas.

TAC Gala is the hottest ticket of the season, attracting more than 300 people from all over the North Shore, surrounding suburbs and the greater Chicagoland art community, and is expected to sell out quickly. Individual tickets are $150, or $130 for members, and can be purchased online at www.TheArtCenterHP.org or by calling 847-432-1888. All Gala proceeds benefit The Art Center − Highland Park's Student Scholarship Fund and Outreach Programs, giving students of all ages access to the arts.

This event is underwritten by generous donations from Sponsors who take pride in keeping art alive in the community.
