Board Member Apologizes for 'Inflammatory Remarks'
Jane Solmor-Mordini says she didn't mean to upset people with "Mein Kampf" reference at recent meeting.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - North Shore School District 112 board member Jane Solmor-Mordini has issued an apology for her remarks at a recent school board meeting. Solmor-Mordini made a reference to “Mein Kampf,” Adolf Hitler’s autobiography, during an exchange with a parent on the subject of school reconfiguration.
Solmor-Mordini issued the following apology Thursday afternoon.
"I wish to apologize for my inflammatory remarks. I did not mean to upset people. In the heat of the moment, I was concerned about the 2.0 process and my feelings that a lot of good work by hundreds of good people over many years is being disregarded and disrespected. I was actually enjoying sparring with Davis and did not realize my jab would be taken quite so literally or offensively. Obviously, I am a Jew that cares deeply about the Holocaust, genocides and hatred wherever they occur and I did not mean to dishonor the struggle anyone has faced at the hands of bullies and tyrants.”
