Burglars Hit 14 Cars, Bike Shop; Car Stolen From Garage: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Highland Park Police Department for Aug. 7 to Aug. 13.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

CAR BURGLARIES

- A pursue with a wallet and other unspecified valuables inside was stolen from a car parked on Gilgare Lane sometime prior to 7:17 a.m. on Aug. 6.
- Someone got into a garage in the 2700 block of Fort Sheridan Avenue and rummaged through a pair of unlocked vehicles prior to 9 a.m. on Aug. 7.
- Someone rummaged through an unlocked car in the 200 block of Moraine Avenue prior to 8:39 a.m. on Aug. 7, and no items were reported stolen at the time of the report.
- A resident in the 2400 block of Montgomery Avenue reported someone rummaged through an unlocked vehicle but nothing was reported stolen prior to 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 7.
- A resident in the 400 block of Orchard Avenue reported at 7:46 a.m. on Aug. 7 that someone had gotten into a pair of unlocked cars and stolen a gym back and cash from inside.
- A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Avenue reported at 9:52 a.m. on Aug. 7 that someone had gotten into an unlocked car and stolen a garage door opener.
- Three unlocked cars were rummage through while parked in the the 0-100 block of Walker Avenue, police were told on the morning of Aug. 7. Someone stole a phone charger and sunglasses from one of them.
- A resident in the 2700 block of Roslyn Lane reported at 12:12 p.m. on Aug. 7 that someone had gotten into a vehicle and stolen a garage door opener.
- Two residents in the 2700 block of Port Clinton Road reported on Aug. 7 that someone had gotten into parked cars. Cash and sunglasses was reported stolen from one of them. A bicycle was reported stolen from the garage of the other home.
STOLEN CAR
A resident in the 700 block of Lorraine Circle reported shortly after 5 p.m. on Aug. 7 that someone had stolen a vehicle from inside their garage.
BURGLARIES

- A resident in the 1000 block of Central Avenue reported at 12:24 p.m. on Aug. 6 that someone had damaged a pair of padlocks and managed to get into a vacant house. Nothing inside the home was reported to be damaged or missing.
- Police were told around 11:12 a.m. on Aug. 7 that someone stole a locked bike from the area of Central Avenue and St. John’s Avenue.
- Someone stole a locked bike from a facility in the 0-100 block of St. John's Avenue, police were told at 8 p.m. on Aug. 9.
- The owner of a bicycle shop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road reported a burglary around 3:18 a.m. on Aug. 9. Someone "unlawfully entered" the store and stole a bicycle, a set of bike pedals and a pair of sunglasses with a combined value of more than $11,000.
ARRESTS
A 23-year-old Glenview man was arrested at 7:13 p.m. on Aug. 9 following a traffic stop in the area of Central Avenue and Green Bay Road and charged with driving without a valid license and interference with public officer. He was also issued citations for no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device.
Megan Iosue, 26, of the 100 block of West Honeysuckle Lane in Lake Forest, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 11 and charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near the intersection of Half Day Road and Kelly Lane. She was also issued a speeding ticket.
