HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A 19-year-old Chicago man has been charged in shooting incident that took place on Interstate 94 last month and that caused damage to a Wisconsin man’s vehicle but did not injure the driver, the Illinois State Police announced over the weekend.

Raphael Roman was charged Saturday with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail, police said. The arrest stems from an incident that took place at 2:30 p.m. on August 15 on I-94 at Half Day Road in Lake County.

Troopers arrived to find that a Wisconsin man’s vehicle had been hit by gunfire and damaged, but police said that the 46-year-old man was not hurt. A state police investigation determined Roman to be the suspect, but police have not indicated the motive for the shooting. Roman was arrested on Friday and was being held on $75,000 bond. He has since been released, according to jail records, and will appear in court at a later time.
