HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff at the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, reported on the afternoon of Jan. 26 that someone had stolen a purifier and a wireless internet router during the previous evening. No suspects were identified at the time of the report.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Edward Orloff, 51, of the 6800 block of Hampton Circle, Gurnee, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 21 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after officers received a complaint about a driver in the 1200 block of Old Skokie Valley Road.

Melissa R. Gold, of the 200 block of Evolution Avenue, Highwood, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 23 and charged with violation of an active order of protection after police said she sent an email in violation of a restraining order.
Joshua Klausing, 33, of the 25000 block of West Lake Street, Wauconda, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 26 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police received a driving complaint at the intersection of the Edens Expressway and Clavey Road. He was also issued an improper lane usage citation.
David Paredes, 20, of the 3300 block of West 37th Place, Chicago, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 26 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the Edens Expressway and Lake Cook Road. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.
