D-113 Dumps Search Firm Connected to Kimbrel
Board members voted 6-1 to allow another firm to lead the search for a new superintendent.

The Township High School District 113 school board has dumped the superintendent search firm that had ties to a superintendent who resigned before she began her job.
The board voted 6-1 on Monday to use Libertyville-based B.W.P. and Associates as its new search firm to recruit and screen candidates for the positions of superintendent and director of human resources, according to the Highland Park News.
B.M..P. replaces HYA Executive Search, which had ties to the board’s previous controversial superintendent Dr. Laurie Kimbrel. Kimbrel resigned amid controversy earlier this year - before she had begun her duties and while she was still leading a High School district in California - when information surfaced regarding her previous ties to HYA and her husband’s alleged online bullying actions.

According to the News, neither Kimbrel nor HYA disclosed the previous relationship before HYA selected her for the job.
B.M.P. expects to present finalists for interviews in January and could have a selection made as early as the following month.
