D-113 Looking at Hiring 2 Interim Superintendents

Full-time replacement for George Fornero not expected until 2016.

Township High School District 113 will likely hire a pair of retired superintendents to serve in the interim in 2015-16 rather than rushing to find a replacement for retiring chief George Fornero.

The Highland Park News reports Board President Marjie Sandlow announced the decision during a Monday board meeting - hoping to select the one or two interim superintendents in the next six to eight weeks. The search to find a full-time replacement would then be reopened early in the school year.

The board’s original choice for superintendent, Laurie Kimbrel, was granted a release from her contract earlier this month after reports surfaced she had ties to the search firm that was used to recruit her and allegations her husband engaged in Internet bullying with a parent in the current district they serve in California.
