Drivers Were Drunk During Pair Of Park Avenue Crashes: Blotter

There were no injuries in either crash that resulted in DUI charges on the Highland Park Police Department blotter for Oct. 28 to Nov. 3.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Nalleli Quintero, 32, of the 1400 block of Grove Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road. Police also issued Quintero citations for speeding and improper lane usage.

Arlin Sevedo-Barahona, 21, of the 1500 block of Hamilton Court, Waukegan, was arrested around 7 p.m. Oct. 28 and charged with driving under the Influence of alcohol after police arrived at the scene of a two-car crash with no injuries at the intersection of Green Bay Road and Park Avenue West. Sevedo-Barahona was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a traffic crash.

Michael Morelli, 27, of the 2600 block of St. John’s Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 2 a.m. Oct 30 and charged with felony aggravated domestic battery by strangulation, two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery and criminal damage to property after police determined he choked a person, struck them in the head and body and damaged their electronics at a Highwood residence.

Adiel Alfaro-Medrano, 33, of the 24000 block of West Orchard Lane, Round Lake Heights, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 31 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers showed up at the scene of a two-car crash with no injuries at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue. Alfaro-Medrano was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a traffic crash.

Marshann Gunn, 23, of the 2700 block of E. 76th Street, Chicago, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 3 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs and driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Deerfield Road and Ridge Road. Gunn was also issued citation for improper lane usage and improper use of a turn signal.

A 34-year-old Round Lake Beach woman was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Nov. 3 and charged with driving with a revoked or suspended license and issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol and operating a vehicle while using an electronic device at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Deerfield roads.
